As I continue to read on to chapters (4-7) the same characters are still there Charlie and his grandpa Joe from chapters 1-3, but more characters are include such as Augustus Gloop who is a nine year old fat boy whose hobby is eating. In this book his role is being one of the five to find the Golden ticket to go into Wonka's Factory. Another character is a small, spoiled girl named Veruca Salt. In the book her role is to be one of the five to find the Golden ticket and go to the marvelous chocolate factory. These two new characters are important because its what leads to the finding of the tickets and how they are going to be going to Mr. Wonka's factory. So far the characters from chapters 1-7 have not changed. To prove my point that Augustus has not changed so far is according to the book it states," He eats so many chocolates a day that it is was almost impossible for him not to find one." Another character who has not changed from her role so far is  Veruca to prove this according to the book it states,"  My little Veruca got more and more upset each day, and every time I went home she would scream at me, "Where's my Golden Ticket! I want my Golden Ticket!"

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
By Roald Dahl

The main characters so far in chapters (1-3) is Charlie Bucket, Mr. and Mrs. Bucket, and Charlie's four elderly grandparents. In this book Charlies parents are Mr. and Mrs. Bucket and his grandparents are the parents of Mr. and Mrs. Bucket which they have a son named Charlie. These characters are important because it opens up to the reader that maybe Charlie might go to the chocolate factory according to the book title. In the book  so far Charlie is a thoughtful, grateful, boy whose parents are hardworking, dedicated, loving people, and  Charlie's four elderly grandparents are delicate and weak. To prove my claim about Charlies parents according to the chapter 1 it states," He worked in a toothpaste factory, where he sat all day long at a bench and screwed the caps on to the tops of the tubes of toothpastes after the tubes where filled." This proves that Charlie's dad wants to keep moving forward with his family. Another thing to prove my claim about Charlie is according to chapter 1 it states," Only once a year, on his birthday, did charlie ever get to taste a bit of chocolate." This shows that he is grateful and thoughtful to have a special present even though his dad would rather use it for their expenses. Another few characters in this book are charlie's four elderly grandparents who enjoy telling charlie stories about the chocolate factory and how much they love him. So far in chapters (1-3) the characters have not changed.
