Into chapter 6 Hazel and Gus are on a picnic during the after noon on a sculpture. This scene is important becuase it is when Gus uses his wish to anounce the possibility for them both to go to Amsterdam to visit both Hazel's and Gus's favorite author of the book An Imperial Affliction. In this scene it does not create any conflicts or complications. This scene also does not show both of the characters characteristics. And it does not show any theme of a Universal lesson or truth about life. Also, When Gus announces this great news that they are both going to Amsterdam she becomes overwhelmed with excitement that she is finally going to met her favorite author after she has already used up her unuseful wish. This scene takes place in rising action when the author of the book An Imperial Affliction invites them both to go to Amsterdam to explain the ending of his book. In the book is states," But I also have an interest in meeting Peter Van Houten, and it wouldn't make sense to meet him without the girl who introduced me to his book"(89). In other words since Gus also has the interest of meeting his recomended author by Hazel he thinks both of them should since Hazel is more interested in finding answers and she was the one who recommended his book to Gus. To finish off I think Hazel and Gus will find answers.
